EPEX SPOT launches its latest auction trading innovation: the Exclusive Links block families
New "Exclusive Links" block family live on GB market, other markets to follow
Paris, 12 September, 2024: EPEX SPOT has launched a unique Smart Block product on the EPEX Day-Ahead market in Great Britain, the Exclusive Links block family, to be followed next week by their release on all SDAC coupled day-ahead EPEX SPOT auctions (subject to successful testing).
The growing share of intermittent renewable generation has led to an increase in price volatility on Day-Ahead and Intraday markets. To answer these new challenges, EPEX SPOT has designed this new and innovative block family, with the objective to boost the usage of assets' flexibility, increase their monetization potential and better manage their associated risks.
By combining the properties of Exclusive Groups and Linked Families blocks products, Exclusive Links provide a better fit for trading with increased price volatility and facilitate the execution of assets close to the market marginal price, by enabling the submission of more flexible profiles to the matching algorithm.
The Exclusive Links complete EPEX SPOT most complete suite of block products for power spot auction trading in Europe, which has been developed to meet the diverse optimisation strategies of market participants (more information available here).
