Monthly Power Trading Results March 2025
Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Brussels, London, Paris, Vienna, 2 April 2025.
- A total volume of 78.6 TWh was traded on EPEX SPOT markets in March 2025 (March 2024: 72.1 TWh).
EPEX Day-Ahead™
- Power trading on the Day-Ahead markets on EPEX SPOT accounted for 58,768.9 GWh (March 2024: 55,159.0 GWh).
- The Day-Ahead market has reached a new record traded volume in Great Britain and the Netherlands.
EPEX Intraday™
- On the EPEX SPOT Intraday markets, a total volume of 19,815.2 GWh was traded (March 2024: 16,982.8 GWh).
- The Intraday market has reached a new record traded volume in continuous in the Netherlands and Poland; and auction in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden.
EPEX Origin™
- In March 2025, 180.7 GWh were traded on the first monthly auction for Guarantees of Origin and 207.4 GWh on the second one. Overall, 388.1 GWh were sold.
EPEX Capacity™
- In the first 2025 auction, a total of 3.4 GW were traded on the French Capacity Market.
In March, the EPEX SPOT Exchange Council discussed the ongoing implementation of 15-minutes contracts across European power markets. Moreover, the European Power Exchange welcomed ACER’s proposal for a new EU-wide network code on demand response, submitted by the agency on 7 March 2025 to the EU Commission.

For continuous trading, the aggregated sell & buy volume is divided by 2.
